How We Started

Our Story

Bacalar Home Rentals is a complex of private villas in the jungle, about 10 minutes by car north of Bacalar and close to its calm, crystal clear lagoon. Each villa is a spacious 168 m², and all of our guests share a 20 meter swimming pool, a small gym and a common area. It is a quiet place to relax and a good base for adventure, where you can enjoy nature and comfort together and spend your days on Bacalar's seven shades of blue.

We keep the villas stocked, the pool clean, and the reception open so you don't have to think about any of it. If you need a taxi, a restaurant recommendation, or a spot on the next sailing tour, ask us. We know the area well and we're happy to help.

Our Villas

Each villa has two master bedrooms upstairs, each with its own private bathroom, plus a sofa in the upper hallway that turns into a bed. Downstairs you will find a spacious living room, a fully equipped kitchen, another bathroom and wide glass doors onto a terrace with outdoor seating.

Getting Here and to the Lagoon

We are about 10 minutes by car north of Bacalar. We recommend renting your own car, though Bacalar's taxi service is always an option. The Cayuco Maya beach club is about 1000 meters away, so you can walk or drive (there is parking). Entrance is free for our guests as long as you have a drink at the bar.
